Exalted
YOU ARE AN ARTIST – Artists are creators who insert themselves – sometimes generally disguised as “humanity” into their work. They immortalize themselves with thought and effort. Often their works are so intriguingly beautiful that we are drawn in and our critical senses – our fear – is tranquillized while we allow the artist to work their magic upon us. Artists aspire to be magicians of the mind and soul. CHALLENGE – You want to create something unforgettable because you do not want to beforgotten. You want to create something with the power to open hearts, minds and brains just as yours were first opened, long ago, when you looked upon this amazing world for the first time and felt the power & potential of what you saw. DANGER – There is possibility here for such overweening pride that you place your own psyche above Creation in importance. If you seek to divert worship of your materials to yourself your own soul will harden unto death, and your creative powers will be extinguished. OPPORTUNITY – Join the gods in creating something entirely new that the world will not want to live without. The joy of sharing, the rapture of being known, the ecstasy of expression,of gratitude of being understood, will be yours. Forgive Yourself
YOU CAN LIGHTEN YOUR OWN LOAD – No one can do this but you. You are serving asprosecutor against your own life and guess what? – that’s not fair. Fundamental Attribution Error ispeople blaming individuals for actions that were the result of mass decisions or life circumstances overwhich they had no actual control. Look into it, if you want to. (Sometimes we need to.) Or you can just forgive yourself and move on. After all, we’ve got the future to think of. CHALLENGE – What would you change NOW? How do you WANT to change? First, forgive yourself. You were held hostage by fortune (we all were) and inevitably you went full-on Stockholm Syndrome and identified with your attackers and tried to please them. (We all did. It’s called Society.) Now you’re madder at yourself than you are at them. Forgive yourself. DANGER – You’re in another part of the forest. Surprise! This wasn’t the plan but here you are. The Danger is – you’ll give up. Don’t. You can easily see from every fairy tale and hero’s journey you’ve ever studied that now we’re getting to the Good Part. By testing your muscle you get to grow your muscle. If your muscle is never tested, it withers. Get ready. OPPORTUNITY – We don’t know everything. Even Jesus demonstrated surprise about the way things turned out. Be gentle as a dove, he advised, but wily as a serpent. Serpents can get out of anything. (Ask a herpetologist.) And so can you. It’s just a bigger world than we knew – both inner and outer –so get mapping. I guarantee you – IT GETS BETTER. MEDITATION – #Haiku: Regret Coulda Woulda Shoulda Didn’t. Keep Your Cool
YOU HAVE INNER RESOURCES – DreamTarot’s “Summer” card reminds us, don’t neglect subconscious resources. FOCUS your power by closing your eyes and – relax all your muscles. Breathe deeply, then shallowly, then barely. Afraid you might fall asleep? So much the better – we need those dreams to be our guide. Try to dream of endless summer, the beach, umbrellas, ocean, sand, floating. You know that you are longing for a “getaway” — from what? –and the most refreshing vacation is to disappear inside yourself. Let’s learn to “see with that Third Eye –the Wisdom Eye”. Like every effort, it takes not just focus but practice. CHALLENGE – ask yourself, Who’s in here with me? The mystic answer is: Everyone. Inside yourself lie gathered the messages that have been flooding in – scarily sometimes – time to lay them all out in some imaginative order. Silence the clamor and urge the voices to speak one by one. Everyone you have ever known, everyone you have ever loved, is there. If that’s a tough concept – and I know it’s making you gulp – here’s one that’s even tougher – everyone you ever WILL know is in there too. You can learn to reach forwards as well as back. No, it doesn’t come immediately. But the exciting news is – you have all the time in the world. DANGER – Of course you fear you will lose yourself. You even fear that you have no self to lose. We are young at this, fresh, naïve and simple. A beginner. Accept that power. It is a wonderful thing when the baby first begins to see. But what about Evil? Isn’t that a thing? If I have Everything inside, then don’t I have Evil, too? And the mystic answer is Yes. But it can’t hurt you if you don the armor. The armor is Love, and you already know as much about that as you need to know. No, it isn’t strong enough yet, but you can strengthen it by Will. We will educate your will. OPPORTUNITY – You realize now you are making a choice. It seemed so complicated at first but it really comes down to that one thing – we all must choose between Evil or Love. Evil promises it will“get the job done”, it will offer “special” unique opportunities, single you out for goodies, bring you hostages and slaves. But here’s the Fact about Evil – it breaks all its promises because IT BREAKS YOU. Love promises only Love, and that takes effort. It takes discernment, knowledge, commitment and growth.
