What can this card possibly mean?

SUMMER – RELAX – Just when we get all fired up we draw THIS card! It’s the middle winter (going to be 31 degrees today) but why relax at the beginning of a venture? Just when we are figuring out our strength and laying out our weaponry?

2. You’ve realize the immensity of your need and the enormity of the challenge. You’ve looked into your capacities and they just don’t seem to match your expectations. Now you’re feeling hopeless. The Summer card reminds us to “hang loose.” Untense those muscles because fear and hysteria, rage and feelings of worthlessness are working against us. The best thing is to realize your Soulmate is feeling all these things also. This is a process you need to go through, recognizing the vastness of the challenge ahead. This guarantees that when your and your Beloved melt together your success will be all the sweeter. Of necessity to valuing the Other is the realization that, although there may be plenty of fish in the sea, you need a very particular fish.

     YOU HAVE INNER RESOURCES – Don’t neglect them. The way you draw on this is to FOCUS your power by closing your eyes and – relaxing. Are you afraid you might fall asleep? So much the better – we need those dreams to be our guide. Let’s learn to “see with that Third Eye – the Wisdom Eye. Like every effort, it takes not just focus but practice.

CHALLENGE – Who’s in here with me? And the mystic answer is: Everyone. Inside yourself is where you gather the messages that have been flooding in – scarily sometimes – and lay them all out in some sort of order. We need to silence the clamor and urge the voices to speak one by one. Everyone you have ever known, everyone you have ever loved, is there. If that’s a tough one – and I know it’s making you gulp – here’s one tougher – everyone you ever WILL know is in there too. You can learn to reach forwards as well as back. No, it doesn’t come immediately. But the exciting news is – you have all the time in the world.

DANGER – You fear you will lose yourself. You fear you have no self to lose. And truly you are young at this, and fresh, naïve and simple. A beginner. Accept that power. It is a wonderful thing when the baby begins to see. But what about Evil? Isn’t that a thing? If I have Everything inside, then don’t I have Evil, too. And the mystic answer is Yes. But it can’t hurt you if you don the armor. The armor is Love, and you already know as much about that as you need to know. No, it isn’t strong enough yet, you can strengthen it by Will. You must educate your will.

OPPORTUNITY – You realize now you are making a choice. It seemed so complicated at first but it really comes down to that one thing – you must choose between Evil or Love. Evil promises it will “get the job done”, it will offer “special” unique opportunities, single you out for goodies, bring you hostages and slaves. But here’s the Fact about Evil – it breaks all its promises because IT BREAKS YOU. Love promises only Love, and that takes effort. It takes discernment, knowledge, commitment and growth. Love asks you to enter a process. Evil says you can just “take”, or even lie inert and be showered with benefits. One makes you beautiful, an athlete of the Soul, the other makes you hideously ugly, a blot that sucks in light and depresses all who look at it. Will you make mistakes? Inevitably. Frightened yet? Relax. And see.
